The Muslim Students Association (MSA) is an organization that is dedicated to serving the needs and concerns of the Muslim students and faculty members here on campus. In addition to this, the MSA also spreads awareness by helping to educate both Muslims and non-Muslims about the basic tenets of Islam. Muslims come from a variety of backgrounds and belief systems and so many different groups are represented under the MSA without fragmentation, as it is said in our holy book, the Qur’an: “And hold fast all together, by the rope which God stretches out for you, and be not divided amongst yourselves.”

As an organization, the MSA takes that verse to heart in that it acts as a foundation for all students, regardless of faith, to come together to form a large, vibrant community and to grow as individuals. We are not just another club on campus, we are a vast social and religious network- a support system open to everyone. We foster leadership and motivation amongst our members and we stand behind the issues that face students on campus, and community members off-campus. To this end, the MSA does not act as a biased and secluded organization, but rather we seek to positvely contribute to both this campus and the surrounding community by helping to build a more tolerant and educated society.
